The Incredible
Journey

2010

For any lover of ships and their history, especially the transitional days when sail gave way to steam, there are few more complete and expertly restored surviving examples of these vessels than the ss Great Britain, Isambard Kingdom Brunel's iron transatlantic steamer of 1843, which again rests in the dry dock where she was built over 150 years ago.

CTD was commissioned by the ss Great Britain Trust to design and produce their 400 page illustrated book that describes the incredible 40 year rescue and restoration story from an abandoned hulk in the Falklands in 1970, to the restored and reconstructed museum vessel in 2010. We feel privileged having had the chance to work with the museum team and make this comprehensive, authoritative and suitably illustrated book happen.
